Stairs

The stairs are a symbol for growing self awareness and self mastery. It starts with learning non-judgmental self observation, this is already a difficult one for many managers who are confronted with perfectionism and fear of failure. The more we understand our own emotional reactions, perceptions and limiting belief systems, the more we can consciously choose attitudes and behaviors when interacting with others. The more we move upwards, the more we become wiser and mature. Once we understand our own path, we also develop more empathy for others around us. This is the core of emotional intelligence. The stairs are not meant to stimulate the managers` drive for performance, there is no better and worse here. Everybody is ok and on his way; the concept of stairs only helps to get a feeling where personal self mastery can still lead us to. It is describing a development from within.

Every leader who is devoted to personal development becomes a reference point for others. The impact goes far beyond the number of colleagues or employees that he or she may have. It is going beyond ego.

“You have to be the change you want to see happening in this world” (Mahatma Ghandi).
